South Australia State Nomination Occupation List Update: 70 Occupations Opened
Migration SA has announced that, as of 28 September 2021, 70 occupations on the South Australian State Nomination Occupation List will be opened to offshore applicants.
These occupations have been identified as crucial in assisting South Australia with its recovery from COVID-19.
What Occupations Have Been Added?
A wide range of occupations are included in the following categories:
- Farmers and Farm Managers;
- Hospitality, Retail & Service Managers;
- Specialist Managers;
- Business, Human Resource & Marketing Professionals; and
- Design, Engineering, Science & Transport Professionals.

What are the Requirements?
The minimum requirements for nomination include:
- being under 45 years of age;
- at least 8 years work experience in the occupation or similar occupation;
- proficient plus English level (English language proficiency); and
- positive skills assessment.

To be eligible for nomination, applicants must meet the Department of Home Affairs requirements, state-specific occupation requirements, and have the necessary skills in a listed occupation.
Offshore applicants meeting the requirements can register their interest now.
Invitations to Apply
State nomination is extremely competitive.
Even if one does meet the minimum requirements for state nomination, they are not guaranteed to receive an invitation to apply after registering their interest via Migration SA.
